U+Me Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 8, 2026

U+Me ("U+Me", "we", "us") is made by Alacrysim LLC. U+Me is a private space for two partners to answer thoughtful questions out loud. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

The short version

  • You sign in with your email address using a one-time code. We do not ask for your real name or a password.
  • Your voice answers are stored privately and are only ever shared with your partner, and only after you have both answered.
  • We do not sell your data, and we do not show ads.
  • You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app at any time.
  • You can export your recordings and the questions you two wrote from Settings at any time.

What we collect

  • Your email address. You sign in with your email using a one-time code (no password). Your email identifies your account so your shared space syncs across your devices.
  • Names you enter. The first names you type for yourself and your partner, used to personalize your shared space.
  • Onboarding answers. How long you have been together and what you hope U+Me brings you, used to tailor which questions you see.
  • Voice recordings. The spoken answers you record. They are released to your partner only after you have both answered the same question. A recording passes through our servers to reach your partner. Once your partner has received it, we remove it from our servers during routine cleanup after a 7 day grace period. A recording your partner has not yet received stays on our servers until it is delivered, or until the space or account is deleted. The lasting copies live on your and your partner's devices. On the free tier, U+Me keeps your three most-recent moments on-device and lets older ones fade; the lifetime unlock keeps your full history. Deleting the app removes that device's copies.
  • Invite and pairing codes, used to connect the two of you.
  • Purchase status, if you make the one-time purchase (processed through RevenueCat and the App Store or Google Play). This is your purchase history; we never see your card details.
  • A push notification token, if you enable notifications, so we can tell you when your partner has answered.
  • Basic usage events, such as opening the app, answering a question, or viewing the purchase screen. These are identifiers, counts, and timestamps. We do not record the content of your answers or transcribe your voice for analytics.
  • Device platform and app version, to operate and improve the app.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your real name beyond what you type, a password, your contacts, your precise location, or advertising identifiers. We do not use third-party advertising.

How we use your information

  • To run the core experience: pairing, the answer-then-unlock ritual, playback, streaks, and themed content.
  • To deliver notifications you have opted into.
  • To process and restore your one-time purchase.
  • To understand which features are used so we can improve U+Me. This uses aggregate, de-identified events.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers ("processors") who handle data on our behalf:

  • Supabase: database, file storage, and authentication (hosts your account and recordings).
  • RevenueCat: purchase validation and restore (Apple and Google process the payments).
  • Expo: delivery of push notifications.
  • Apple and Google: in-app purchase processing.

We share your voice answers only with your partner in your shared space, and only after you have both answered. We do not sell personal information.

Retention and deletion

  • After your partner has received a recording, we remove it from our servers during routine cleanup, once a 7 day grace period has passed. A recording your partner has not yet received stays on our servers until it is delivered, or until the space or account is deleted. After removal from our servers, the recording lives on your and your partner's devices.
  • The lasting copies of your recordings are stored on your devices. On the free tier, U+Me keeps your three most-recent moments on-device and lets older ones fade; the lifetime unlock keeps your full history. Deleting the app removes that device's copies.
  • You can delete your account, your shared space, and all of your recordings at any time: open the Settings tab and choose Delete my account. This removes all of your data from our servers immediately and permanently. Aggregate usage events are de-identified rather than deleted.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Recordings are kept in private storage with access controls so that only your couple's space can reach them, and partner audio is released only when the gate opens. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Children

U+Me is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, port, or delete your data. The in-app account deletion covers deletion directly, and the in-app export covers access and portability directly. An export includes what U+Me still holds; on the free tier, moments that have already faded are gone and are therefore not part of an export. For other requests, contact us at the address below.

International users

Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards for any such transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will revise the date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app.
